Lunch Menus

Free School Meals

All children from Reception to Year 6 currently receive a free school lunch, through Mayor of London funding. Although all children received a free school meal, we strongly encourage you to check Free School Meals (FSM) eligibility via Islington Citizens Portal. FSM eligibility may give you access to certain discounts and opportunities. Registering your child for FSM is also important because the school might get extra ‘pupil premium’ funding from the government. For each eligible pupil, the school gets an extra £1,550 in pupil premium funding. In 2025/26, this amounted to £209,070, which makes a huge difference to the quality of education we can offer.

Caterlink & Allergy Form

Meals at Ambler are freshly prepared on site by Caterlink. Below is a link to the current menu.

Caterlink uses an online request form and database for allergy management:

  • The online form must be completed if your child requires a special diet due to allergies, intolerances or medical conditions, as soon as possible.
  • The online form needs to be submitted with supporting medical evidence from an NHS professional (e.g. a GP/Consultant letter, registered dietician or allergy action plan).
  • The online form then goes to Caterlink's Nutrition Team to review the request and provide a Special Diet Menu.

Ambler's 4-digit unit code is: 2461

Only parents who have responded / completed and submitted the form and supplied medical information will have a Special Diet Menu available for their child if it is deemed safe to cater for the child. Any children who are waiting for a special diet menu to be approved will be provided with a 'safe meal' - jacket potato with beans, vegetables and fresh fruit salad (if suitable for child's allergens). Please let us know if you require a safe meal for your child.
