Mindfulness

At Ambler we value mindfulness - the research says it all! It is because of this that we engage in mindfulness in all rooms from Babies to Year 6, learning a variety of mindfulness techniques at the same time every day (adults included!). 

 

In the Children’s Centre and Year 1 we use Mindfulness for Learning’s Mindful Mo pack. Mindful Mo is a puppet that teaches the children a range of strategies including breathing to notice, explore and regulate their feelings. 

 

    

 

For Year 2 and up, classes take part in mindfulness after lunch time using resources such as GoNoodle and Smiling Mind. Children inform their class teachers how they are feeling before and after their mindfulness session (linked to our Zones of Regulation).

Mindfulness is a useful tool for people of any age and can be done at school, home or out and about. Below are the links we use which can also be used at home.
